This policy applies to this site itself and anything you send us through it, along with what you tell us by phone or email.

We get what you give us, plus server logs

Most of what we hold comes straight from you. Fill in the form on our contact page and we get the details you enter, which can include your name, phone number, email, the ZIP code or full address of the job (when those fields are on the form) and what the work involves. Call or write to us and we get the content of that conversation, together with any pictures or files you attach. There’s also a small amount of server data: our hosting provider records each visit’s IP address and browser, plus the page asked for and the time, to protect the site and keep it available.

An assistant may reply in our chat

We record every chat on this site. A record includes the messages you write, including a name, an email or a phone number if you give one, and the job you describe; the page you were on and the website you arrived from; an approximate location based on your internet address; the device and browser you are using; and a random code your browser keeps for the chat so that your chats can be told apart. The chat may be answered by an automated assistant, for which the chat’s providers process your messages. The record is there so we can answer you, get your work booked and make the chat better.

We keep cookies to a minimum

You won’t find advertising or analytics cookies on the website. The host may still set one cookie that the site strictly needs for security. It may also count page views without cookies; the counts are anonymous totals for each page.

We rely on a few providers and partners

Others who may see your information:

  • the companies that host the site, handle our email and deliver messages from the form on our contact page;
  • service partners who help us respond to you or carry out the work;
  • authorities or others, when the law requires it or where that is necessary to protect rights or safety.

We use your details for your job

Your details let us reply to you, schedule and do the job, and check in with you about it later. We also use them for our records, for keeping the site secure and for meeting the requirements the law places on us.

We take reasonable care of it

We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe. All the same, there’s no such thing as perfect security, online or off, and we can’t guarantee it.

We keep it only as long as we need it

Information stays on file for the time it takes to deal with your request and do the work, and then for any period our records and the law require. Then we delete it.

You can ask us to show, fix or delete it

Email contact@bethunepestservices.com or call (313) 351-0267 if you would like to see, correct or delete the information we keep about you. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on the request. Using these rights doesn’t affect the way we treat you.

Your choice to opt out

Opting out: state privacy laws in some places give residents a right to opt out when personal information is sold or shared. Those laws define what “sale” and “sharing” mean. To make such a request, follow the steps on the Privacy Choices page.

We don’t knowingly collect children’s data

Children under 13 aren’t the audience this site is intended for, and we don’t knowingly gather their information.

We may update this page

Updates happen. The date at the start of this page shows when this version took effect.
